Lately we have been extending the CalTweet Event Promotion universe. We extended the homepage and added a blog. It doesn’t stop there though.

The audience that enjoys CalTweet also enjoys concerts. While many concerts have been put on the CalTweet application, we wanted a way to recommend certain concerts to you and let you know when your favorite celebrities are coming into town. From Lady Gaga to Eminem. We will also be featuring up and coming artists.

The design of Caltweet Concerts is very similar to the caltweet blog. We want to keep everything looking seemless. We just made our first post about lady gaga and you can expect many more to come. Let us know what you think about the layout and the colors. The logo is still in the beta phase right now and we will be redesigning it very soon.

We’ve always tried to keep Caltweet very simple and easy to use. Because of this, we have kept the homepage very simplistic. However, Caltweet as grown a lot since it was created and it is now so full of features that we need to add a little complexity to the homepage that way users can get the full Caltweet experience. Here are some things we have added to the home page.

In our last article, I told you about how we changed the sorting mechanism to sort by popularity. That is a very useful feature and most users want to know what are the hottest events going on. So we have given you what you want and put this on the hope page as the ‘Hottest Upcoming Events.’

Also, we want you to stay informed about what is going on with caltweet, so we have added the blog feed to the homepage. Along with this we have added the US states, so you can find the hottest events in your area straight from the homepage.

So leave us some feed back. What do you think about the new redesign? The colors? The content? Feel free to let us know so we can make Caltweet the best it can be… for you!

Before, events were sorted by the upcoming time. The events that were scheduled to start the soonest, would come up at the top of the search results. However, people tend to want to see the most popular events first. Therefore, events in the Find Events section of caltweet will now be sorted by the amount of RSVPs that these events have.

We have also put the RSVPs and the View count in the search results. This way users can see how popular an event is before they decide if they want to view more details. Also users can immediately see the hottest events in an area. Now, for instance, if you are traveling to new york or some other new city, you can come to caltweet and find out the biggest events in an area. This should also help promoters, because caltweet users can now find your biggest events.
